Briwax has an impeccable heritage which dates back to 1860 when Henry Flack started manufacturing polishes and blending waxes in East London for cabinetmakers and woodcarvers. After severe bomb damage during the Second World War, the company relocated to Beckenham in Kent. The Bollom Group bought the company in 1961 and continued its growth by selling into the consumer and professional markets.
In early 2007 the Bollom Group was sold to an investment company which later in the year sold the Briwax part of the business to Martin and Tony Bollom. They gave total focus to the Briwax brand with its flagship wax products as well as oils, cleaners, sealers and touch up pens for wood products.
In 2013 Briwax became part of Rustins, a leading wood care company. The Briwax product range has been carefully selected from the finest traditional trade finishes, drawing on 150 years of experience supplying furniture manufacturers. Many of the Briwax polishes and products derive from the original formulas developed to meet the quality demands of the professional finisher.
